Koneru Humpy topped the rapid Chess event an with it registered the first gold medal of the 15th Asian Games for India. Another gold came our way as Pankaj Advani won the Billiard-Singles. A total of 11 medals (2 G, 5 S, 4B) as on Tuesday, are under Indias belt. The maximum number of medals (1G, 4S, 1B) coming from the shooting events, comes as no surprise.
Some disappointments also came our way as Rajyawardhan Rathore could only manage a bronze and the Leander Paes-Mahesh Bhupati duo lost out to Wang Yeu Tzuoo and Lu Yen Hsun of Chinese Taipei.
Women had their good day on Tuesday as two singles and one doubles Tennis Quarter Finals were won by Sania Mirza, Shikha Uberoi and the pair of Ankita Bhambri and Isha Lakhani. Fingers crossed for three more medals now.
Kabaddi never seems to dissapoint, India will play against Pakistan in Kabaddi today for the Gold Medal. I wonder why kabaddi doesnt seem get the same hype, I mean we do well and after all IT is India Vs Pakistan in a game that is more about raw endurance. The mixed doubles event can also fetch us a Gold.
