Prof. Ranganathan has a very upbeat editorial (pdf) in the latest issue of Current Science about the emerging India. Despite the “dangerous optimism”, according to Prof. Ranganathan (emphasis mine):

It is possible that growing wealth and technological might of India will lead the renaissance in Indian science and not vice versa.
