Deepak Kaul, visa counsellor at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, was expelled and was ordered to leave the country within 48 hours. He was arrested while he was on his way to Wagah border by road to receive his family.

A group of about eight to nine people pounced on him, handcuffed him and took him to an undisclosed location blindfolded and kept him there for five hours,” they said. He was later handed over to Indian diplomats who were summoned to the Foreign Office. The Indian officials were told that Kaul was “caught with documents” and has been declared persona non grata and that he had 48 hours to leave the country. Pakistan officials were not available for comment.

Kaul’s detention, handcuffing and blindfolding are in violation of diplomatic norms. This incident follows the dirty drama by Pakistan wherein they handed the list of terrorist working against Pakistan interest and present on Indian soil to Indian government.

The false list was submitted by Pakistan to counter the diplomatic offensive and the actual ‘Most wanted list’ which India had submitted to Pakistan lot of times earlier. And also to get away from the rising tension over it’s role by supporting Pakistan-based groups which had links with the terrorist activities in India and recent Mumbai Blast

Time to give peace to Peace talks and say it Loud and Clear, that NO talks until Pakistan mend it’s ways and dismantle the Terrorist camp present in POK.
