It's summer. The cost of a flight ticket (if you are lucky enough to get one!) to India from the Arabian/Persian Gulf is more expensive than flying to Europe. There has been a demand for quite sometime from the NRIs settled in the region to open up the sector to private airline companies (example Jet, Kingfisher, Sahara, etc.). The reason why the government allows the private companies to fly anywhere except the Middle East is because, this is the only sector Air India and Indian makes any money.
The Kerala government wants to start an airline to tackle this issue but the union government still says no. What are they worried about? Surely, it can't be this; 🙂
